Performing Arts Program - Fall 2010 (calendar for print)

Bettina Montano: Artistic Director
Ruby Aver: Performing Arts Program Associate Director

New for Fall 2010

Starting this semester, we have reorganized our beginning-level class structure and developed Foundational classes that more accurately reflect our interdisciplinary approach.

Berkshire Pulse Performing Arts Program offers young people an opportunity to explore their own creative language while challenging their intellectual, technical and artistic abilities. Traditional standards are met using current techniques in our professional level training. Ballet, Modern and Jazz dance class levels are progressive. Meeting each level's goals is a requirement for advancement. Our holistic, child-friendly approach facilitates both the enjoyment and the beauty of these performing arts. Level appropriate classroom etiquette is expected.

NEW! UPPER LEVEL PARENT MEETING
Saturday, September 25, 2010. 2:00 PM, at Berkshire Pulse

This year we will offer a brief informational meeting to discuss upper level requirements and expectations. This meeting is for parents of Intermediate and Advanced level dance students. Please mark your calendars and make every effort to attend!

Beginning August 31st, and in preparation for Fall classes, Performance and Audition Preparation, Ruby Aver and Bettina Montano will be available for private classes and coaching. Please contact D. Curto at Berkshire Pulse to make arrangements for an instructor consultation.

Class and Level Placement

Placing students correctly is a foundational part of our mission. We deeply consider a wide variety of factors ~ physical skill, peer group, emotional maturity, years of previous study, and age. Be assured that we always give careful consideration to placing each student where we believe he or she will have the greatest potential for growth. New dance students age 10+ who would like to participate in ballet, modern and jazz classes are required to participate in placement classes which are held during our registration period (see registration information). Students under 10 are placed according to age and interest. For these students, adjustments in class placement occasionally may be necessary after initial attendance.
